What Is Lunar Astra?
Lunar Astra uses dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, commonly called DXA or DEXA, to assess bone mineral density and estimate body composition. These measurements help healthcare professionals evaluate bone health and understand how much of the body consists of fat and lean tissue.
Whether you’re exploring bone density testing or looking for more information to support your wellness goals, Lunar Astra offers a way to look beyond the number on the scale.
Greater Capacity for More Patients
Finding equipment that accommodates your height and weight can sometimes be a challenge. Our new Lunar Astra expands access with:
• Patient accommodation up to 6′8″ tall.
• A patient weight capacity of up to 525 lbs.
• A larger, 78 × 26-inch active scan area.
• A 19-inch portal height, providing additional clearance above the scanning table.
Compared with the Lunar Prodigy specifications, Lunar Astra increases the stated weight capacity from 350 to 525 pounds and provides a wider scanning area. These changes allow our team to welcome more patients for assessment.
